Plesk DNS setup for linux.

By default, Plesk's DNS setup is extremely poor and requires some changes to make it work. You'll need to pick 2 nameservers. We will be using ns1.example.com and ns2.example.com. Before we can get serious you must have 2 spare IP Addresses for your name servers. Provided that you have your IP Addresses you are ready for the first step. You need to log into the control panel on the registrar's site for your domain in which you are going to use for your name servers. Once logged in, search for the 'register name server' or 'glue name server' panel. If you cannot find it you'll need to contact your registrar's support. Once you have found it, register the name servers accordingly.

For example: ns1.example.com - 1.1.1.1 and ns2.example.com - 1.1.1.2

Alright, now we can log into Plesk! Click on Server and then click on DNS Settings. We need to edit the DNS Zone Template to ensure that when we do add domains, they will have the correct DNS settings. Remove the NS records that are there and the PTR one. Now click Add New Record. We're going to add in the nameservers now. Select the record type as NS and enter in the "Enter Nameserver" box your first nameserver (like ns1.example.com). Press OK and repeat for your second nameserver.

Now go and add your nameserver's domain (like example.com) into plesk, set it up with physical hosting and proceed to it's own DNS configuration. In here, you must add the A records for your nameservers. You should be able to see that your NS records have been added below. Now add the corresponding A records for each nameserver. Click Add Record and enter in ns1 in the first box and its corresponding IP Address. Press okay and then go and do the same for ns2.

Now your Plesk DNS should be set up! Open up a command prompt and ping your nameserver's domain.
